The competition went really well. I was paired up with former teammate and NTG athlete, Tyler Smith. We ended up jumping to 2nd. We started the cross country portion 45 seconds behind gold medalist, Bill Demong, and USST member, Nick Hendrickson. The team sprint consisted of 5 laps, all 1.5 kilometers. I skied a solid race, but Tyler really put the distance between the other teams. We ended up finishing in 2nd overall with Tyler having the fourth fastest time!
I am now back in Park City resting. Because of all the new snow, we were able to finally put on our cross country skis for the first time this year! I was really excited to be able to ski and now can't wait for our first race. I am keeping my fingers crossed the snow doesn't melt.
I will be heading home to Aspen next weekend with fellow Aspenites and USST members, Noah Hoffman, and Simi Hamilton for a fundraiser to help us defray some of this seasons expenses. After that I will be training in Park City until our first Continental Cups in December. Bring on the snow!
